SHIVA, LORD OF THE GODS..

Jan. 2013 Hello my name is Henry L. Raybrook. I'm a 57 y.o. artist who lives in the city of Berkeley Ca. I have lived here for the last 30 years or more. I would like to dedicate this home page to the Great God Shiva, "the Lord of the Gods." I first heard of the Hindu Goddess "Kali" from a good friend of mine (Kevin Freeman) who talked of nothing else. He told me many great stories about the black goddess which sparked my interest enough to visit the local book stores and learn more about the Hindu religion. It was during that search that I came to know the Lord Of the Gods, Lord Shiva, who has become my personal deity and my savior, my guide and protector. He is the begining and the end, the one true God whom I place all my love and trust, For to know Lord Shiva is to love him. His is the Supreme Deity in the Hindu trilogy. The Supreme Being! There are many great books that tell the tales & stories of Lord Shiva, but my favorite book is: Sadhus, India's Mystic Holy Men, By Dolf Hartsuiker. It is a great book that tells the history of the Hindu religion and the way that India's holy men worship and live and dedicate their lives to Lord Shiva. It's a geat book, very easy to read and understand & I would really recommend it to anyone wanting to lean more about the Hindu religion or Lord SHIVA. There are a great many books on the Hindu religion, but I think that the the "Vedas" are the best. Lord Shiva is known by many different names: Pashupati, the Lord of the animals, Bhairava, or Kapaleshwar the Lord of the Skull, He is: Yogiraja King Of Yoga, for it was Lord Shiva who brought yoga to mankind so that men and women could pratice yoga, the true road or path to heaven. In the holy trinity, Shiva's offical role is "the Destoyer" but he is also the creator, for just as a forest fire destorys the forest so that new life can grow, so Shiva destroys the universe so that new life and new worlds and�races of peoples can be created! Shiva is: Nataraja, the Kind of Dance, perpetually performing the "Cosmic Dance". Shiva is the Three-eyed lord, he is known as: Mahakala, the Great TimeKeeper. He is, simply put, Shiva, the God of Destruction! Shiva has many different names (1008 all together) It is Lord Shiva who has taught the world that the true purpose in life is "ENLIGHTENMENT! SHIVA IS THE "SUPREME LORD! Shiva has so many manifestations and so many names and personalites that it would just be impossible too list them all here. But if I have planted the seed, if one person seeks out Lord Shiva after seeing my homepage, what a great joy it would bring to my heart! For to know Lord Shiva, is to know Truth and Happiness and most important of all: PURE LOVE! Again the books, tales & stories of Lord Shiva are many. I hope that I have planted the seed, so that others will seek out and find Truth, Love & Happiness in the teachings of Lord Shiva, "LORD OF ALL GODS"..*This is my very first homepage and is still under construction so please bear with me. I'm just a guy from Berkeley who wanted to tell the world about my love and the happiness that I have received from Lord "SHIVA!"
